The best pasta sauces are always from an Italian grandmother or mother’s kitchen. Fortunately, as a non Italian, I’ve had many Italian friends invite me to dinner in my younger years. For many years now in the non Italian diaspora I have wandered grocery aisles searching for a great sauce/gravy. Then, one day at a local Italian deli I glimpsed jars of an unfamiliar (to me) sauce Jersey Italian gravy. I bought a jar and I swear to St. Anthony of Padua the Gates of Heaven opened to my taste buds! Amazing, fresh, rich Italian gravy/sauce like my friends Mamas and Nonnas/Nonnies created. I’m buying Sunday gravy, marinara, and basil three dozen at a time shipped every few months north to Rhode Island. My family is converted and have forsworn grocery store brands.

We use probably four or five 12-pack boxes of sauce every year, for just my wife and I, this is our one and only go-to marinara sauce!!
