Chicken Parm Meatballs
Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- ½ cup grated Parmesan
- ½ cup traditional breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp ground black pepper
- ¼-½ tsp red pepper flakes, if desired for spice
- Oil, to pan fry
- 1, 24 oz jar Jersey Italian Gravy Tomato Basil
- 1-2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
Directions
- In a large bowl, mix together the ground chicken, parmesan, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic powder, italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes until just combined.
- Roll the meat mixture into golfball size shaped balls and set aside. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Heat a large skillet over medium high heat and add 2-4 tbsp of oil. Once heated and working in batches, add the meatballs. Pan fry until browned on each side, about 3 minutes per side.
- Place the meatballs in a medium baking dish and pour the tomato basil sauce over the meatballs. Place the shredded mozzarella on top. Transfer to the oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, until the meatballs are cooked through to 165 degrees Fahrenheit. Broil on high for 2-3 minutes if desired for further browning on the cheese.
